This Saturday marked yet another incredible night in the city of brotherly love as Miami natives Matt van Toth and Julio Mejia, renowned musical duo GTA, brought their national “Goons Take America” tour to the Fillmore Philadelphia.
GTA showed true aptitude when they performed for over 90 minutes to an ecstatic crowd. Fans could not get enough of their mix of heavy bass, records off their recent release “DTG Vol. 1” including “parental advisory”, “smokers unite”, and “red lips”, and collaborations with artists such as Flosstradamus, Lil Jon, and of course, their tour mate K Camp with “Lil Bit”. Several times throughout the night the pair dropped new material with immediate reactions of dancing, jumping, and even some overtaking mosh pits.
GTA has proven they can invade and conquer any city they choose to perform with the full support of their followers and tour members. The music created an atmosphere of thrill and excitement, but what also captured everyone’s attention was GTA's interaction with their fans as they formulated the mosh pits and cooled a few members down with spurts of water. Wherever these two go, they will not stop encapsulating the spirit of their fans as they continue to innovate the music scene.
