Boy, did we miss The Liacouras Center!! After an almost two year hiatus, House of Hearts was back at it again. On Saturday, in arguably the biggest room in the city, Zedd’s “True Colors” tour made sure our return was one of the most unforgettable nights this city has ever seen. This time with the company of Alex Metric, What So Not, and the infamous Dillon Francis.
The night started off relatively slow, but surely enough as the crowd started to pack in the energy level rose at an alarming rate. Alex Metric and What So Not provided the audience with a warm welcoming as Temple University just got finished up with a huge homecoming victory down at the Linc. Next up on the bill was Dillon Francis, who shook things up a little bit with some visuals sticking true to his youthful sense of humor.
Dillon’s set was filled with fan favorites including “Get Low” & his new collaboration with Kill the Noise, “Dolphin on Wheels”. If you were a seasoned Dillon Francis fan you were even given the throwback treatment with some old favorites off his album “Something, Something Awesome
With weeks of anticipation and rumors leading up to Saturday about the “True Colors” tour and how mesmerizing Zedd’s production was, it was obvious to the audience that this was going to be a historic night in the Philadelphia electronic music community. Well, we got just that, a completely mind-boggling experience filled with pyrotechnics, confetti drops, and an absolutely massive screen for visuals. One fan compared it to; “being in a technological wormhole that brings you through different dimensions of existence.” Another fan said; “It was like you were taking a virtual ride on the Rainbow Road level in Super Mario Kart.” Both being accurate comparisons as you can see here.
