On February 3rd of this year, I found myself boarding a passenger airliner headed for the West Coast. As our 21st centruey mechanical bird pulled away from the Philadelphia terminal and began to align with the runway, I found combing over the series of events that have all led me here. Considerably this was the path less traveled...
So where was I headed? What was this journey all about? Like a man on a mission, I was headed to San Diego, California in hopes to build something bigger and better for our small promotion company. Founded in 2010 in the heart of West Chester PA, now established in Philadelphia, PA, one could say that House of Hearts is a household name for everything "Philly EDM". My mission was clear and really it was quite simple. As we've down this road before about 6 years back. We needed boots on the ground over in San Diego and our company had our "Ace Up their Sleeve". She was truly perfect on all fronts.
So after 5 hours of flying, 2 cups of tomato juice and 1 bag of honey roasted peanuts, the wheels of our plane had finally touched down Los Angeles, California (LAX). This particular airport is rather overwhelming to say the least. So after my 3.5 hour lay over and another 50 minutes in the air, I had finally reach my destination. Flying over the city for the first time felt like something staged for a scene out of a movie. The big warships at docked in harbor, the high pitched interstate spanning over the bay or even the lush roaming hillside as the Sun crept lower on the horizon. I was in my element. Taking in the beneficence of it all, but in that moment you realize you have a job to do. Perhaps this could be the start of a beautiful thing. House of Hearts: West Coast had just begun...
