The year of bad publicity continues for the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado. Earlier in the year, the city of Denver told Red Rocks to lower the sound levels. In the summer, Ricardo Baca wrote a scathing open letter about the smell of venue, going as far as comparing the east stairs to a “beat-down urinal cake.” Now more fuel has been added to the fire. Bassnectar, an artist who has sold out the venue on many occasions, says that he will no longer be performing there, because noise levels are being decreased once again.
In a series of tweets, Bassnectar says that the venue is a “bust”, but that he has “other plans” for Colorado. No official word has been given by the venue, or the city. If what Bassnectar says is true, then it is almost a certainty that big name electronic acts will be more hesitant to perform there.
