Goldrush Post Review
Those who traveled far and wide to Rawhide Western Town were not panning for gold nuggets at this years Goldrush Festival. In fact, many seeked to listen to the melodies of headlining artists; Steve Aoki, Deadmau5, Illenium, and many more. Hosted by Relentless Beats, Goldrush invites you into a 1800’s western setting that is fueled by two nights of heavy bass and good vibes.
Saturday at Golden Gorge (Mainstage), Chris Lake launched the night off with deep house. Slushii then threw down an incredible dubstep track list getting the crowd jumping. When Vince Staples took stage, Yookie began to stir things up at Pioneer Peak with their massive dubstep/bass heavy tracks. Pioneer Peak had an incredible lineup for the evening ending with Squnto, Virtual Riot, and Liquid Stranger. This didn’t lose people’s attention as Deorro and Deadmau5 brought their familiar harmonies to the Western town.
Sunday began slightly different than most days in Arizona. Rain was in the forecast but never had people turning around at the gate. The night was filled with headliners and the mass of people were hungry for a good time. Loud Luxury delivered their well-known track “Body” at Golden Gorge to start the evening. As the rain began to pour, Ekali knew he had to get the crowd excited. He brought bass filled music and sounds from his new EP “Crystal Eyes”. Meanwhile, Medasin and SayMyName threw down incredible sets at Pioneer Peak. Slander and Louis the Child succeeded Ekali and both duos brought a joy amongst the crowd knowing the rain was on its way out. Tokimonsta, Black Tiger Sex Machine, and Troyboi threw down for the remainder of the electronic acts at Pioneer Peak. Mainstage ended with the legendary Illenium and cake throwing connoisseur Steve Aoki. The golden nuggets; Rich the Kid and Kevin Gates had people rushing to Pioneer Peak to catch a glimpse of greatness to end the incredible weekend.
Goldrush was a complete success all-around. The westerly atmosphere gives the festival its own original design and culture. We highly recommend pioneering to the Western town in the future.
