Imagine festival is poised to be one of the hottest festivals of the 2016 Summer. The hot Atlanta weather versus the aquatic elements of the festival will create an incredible dynamic that is certain to be refreshing. On August 26th, I, Maclyn Bean will traveling into the unknown. Spending three days at the Atlanta Motor Speedway to photograph the amazing headliners and artists slated to perform throughout the extended weekend. Headliners such as Excision, Zeds Dead, Dillon Francis, & Gramatik are all set to deliver incredible late night performances, while also offering festival goers a dynamic weekend of electronic music.
You could say that one aspect of Imagine Festival that uniquely stands out is the excellent undercard, specifically when it comes to heavy dubstep and ‘riddim’. Hard hitting producers such as 12th Planet, Snails, Liquid Stranger, Caspa & Rusko, Bleep Bloop, and Minnesota really bring a lot to the table. Pendulum are also playing at the festival, and while it’s not a full-on live set, it will still be an incredible experience for all attendees at the Aeria stage on Saturday night. Keys N Krates and Black Tiger Sex Machine will also bring their LIVE elements to the festival, surely bringing stellar sets along the way.
As a true production fanatic, I am certain that the Imagine Festival (IMF) will not leave me disappointed. This year, production is sure to be fantastical, especially with the addition of aquatic 3-D hologram features to the main stage. Using water features overlaid with interactive, and aesthetically pleasing 3-D imagery, this production feature offered by AQUA is sure to be a refreshing experience for all. The aquatic 3-D hologram production has really piqued my interest in the festival, and I’m really excited for it to be stellar!
Away from the mainstage, attendees can visit the splash pool or The Image Beach to beat the heat, and cool down. Water as an elemental theme is certain to inspire at every turn, from stage production, to the cirque acts, to the interactive workshops. Inspired by the ancient lost city of Atlantis, festival goers will be immersed in a 360-degree sensory environment that hopes to produce a fantastical experience that masterfully embodies the technologically and spiritually advanced society of the lost city.
The exotic vibes that Imagine presents to the attendees are unmatched, and are sure to be an experience for all. With hundreds of performers and art installations spread throughout the venue, there will be no shortage of entertainment just waiting for the fans to dive into. The spirit of Atlantis will come alive and fully immerse the crowd with the addition of the interactive Imaginarium, where consciousness and spirituality will be promoted, while the bass rumbles endlessly in the background. Projections and spewing water fountains will entertain the attendees the hard-hitting sets throughout the days.
